20130719_154851Membership of the society ensures that you are kept informed of all the important issues affecting museum archaeology today. It also brings access to our professional network, free publications and opportunities to attend training sessions and seminars.

Benefits: 

Membership entitles individuals/institutions to a copy of the most recently published volume of our journal ‘The Museum Archaeologist’ as well as an electronic copies of our twice yearly SMA newsletter. Other benefits include:

  • Discounted places at SMA training sessions and seminars
  • Discounted prices for at the SMA annual conference (NB the savings to be made here usually outweigh the cost of membership)
  • Regular email news updates, job adverts etc. via our mailing list and social media accounts
  • Opportunities to promote your own museum activities across a UK wide professional network.

Subcription rates & ways to pay:

  • Full Member £20
  • Student Member £12
  • Unwaged Member £12
  • Institutional Member £30
  • International Member £30

A subscription fee will be required when you join the SMA. After that annual fees are due on 1st April each year. There are five ways to pay your subscription to the SMA:

  • Cheque – made payable to ‘Society for Museum Archaeology’ and sent to the Membership Secretary (details below)
  • BACS – to Sort code 40 25 08  Account Number -71414267
  • PayPal  – Send a PayPal payment for your membership rate to the email address socmusarch@yahoo.co.uk, or use the button provided below
  • Standing order – once a member has joined the SMA they can set up a standing order so that payment is made directly on the 1st April each year.
  • Invoice – If you require an invoice please contact the Membership Secretary.
